Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew growing up in Mexico with a family that loved music. The majority of her early years listening to music from the past, boleros from the past, classic ranchero or romantic tunes and old classical pieces. Ana loves tangos. Additionally, she enjoys operas, and every form of drama. Her mother teaches her how to sing, but she started intensive singing lessons by Flavio Belcerra when she was just 16 years old. Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera tenor. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterward at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. She sang at Guadalajara, Mexico City and different cities when she was a young scholar and professional. After moving into America, United States, she performed in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then in 2002, she made her way to Southern California. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and sings Latin American traditional music solo for many private functions. The love she has for singing, music as well as the arts keeps active in community projects for both an artist as well as a instructor. Ana was a member of the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is currently a teacher in The Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged to be able to share with others her passion for traditional Latin American music. She hopes that this will inspire younger generations to keep the tradition alive.
